Mr. Horn,
While I did not know your father very long, we only met last year in
Normandy, I would like to say that we were friends. Furthermore, I'm
flattered that my email address was in his address book. We were all
very saddened by his death.
In reference to your comment that he lived life to the last minute, I
couldn't agree more. I spent three days with Lou and the other
veterans of the 507th last June. I never would have thought that I
would have had trouble keeping up with men 40 years my senior but in all
candor, they ran me pretty hard.
I've attached a photo that I took last year at the 507th Memorial.
They were and are to a man, a great bunch of guys and I consider myself
the better for having met them.
